Homosexuality in America: Exaggeration of Cinematic Effects up to 10 Times Reality

The number of LGBTQ characters in popular American TV series increased by nearly 3% compared to the previous year, reaching 12% of the main characters’ share of the stories. This news was announced by the media research institute ‘GLAAD,’ which has been examining lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer characters for 26 years, according to its seventeenth annual study.

This report, which examined popular TV series and programs on ABC, CBS, The CW, FOX, and NBC in 2021 and 2022, states that about 92 characters (11.9%) are LGBTQ, representing a record increase of 2.8% from the previous year.

According to this report, the majority of LGBTQ characters in these series or TV programs are lesbian women, constituting 40%, followed by gay men at 35%, and the remaining orientations account for 25%.”
